Meg Ryan fans, rejoice: The actor is back with a new film! This week, it was announced that the ultimate rom-com star—who has graced the big screen in classics such as Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, and When Harry Met Sally—will direct and star in What Happens Later alongside David Duchovny. The official trailer for the film, released this morning, revealed that the plot centers around a former couple (Ryan and Duchovny) who unexpectedly reunite while both being stranded at an airport. Landing in theaters on October 13th, the project is one of Ryan’s first rom-coms since 2009’s Serious Moonlight. And we couldn’t be more thrilled—mostly, because we’re excited for more of her epic on-screen style.

Over the years, few have done leading-lady style quite like the actor. What makes a classic Meg Ryan look? Clean lines, sleek suits, and a pragmatic sensibility. In You’ve Got Mail, she attends an uptown cocktail party in a chic black turtleneck dress; In Sleepless in Seattle, she sports a delicious beige anorak that’s very The Row. There’s a quietly-elegant mood to all of her costumes, even though she’s portrayed everyone from an Upper West Side book store owner to a serious Seattle reporter. Even during that infamous When Harry Met Sally scene—“I’ll have what she’s having!”—Ryan is sporting a polished white button-up top, layered underneath a chunky cable-knit V-neck sweater.

Of course, Ryan’s off-screen style is not dissimilar to her screen characters. She’s clearly had an influence on the costume designers who’ve dressed her. Off-duty, Ryan has been spotted on the streets of Manhattan rocking black shift dresses with sneakers; Satin evening coats with round Lennon-style sunnies; Pleated suits with a striped tube top. She’s just so stylish—effortlessly! The same goes for her new character, Willa, in What Happens Later. The trailer shows her wearing a white maxi dress with a tailored black overcoat (talk about an extremely chic plane look). Sure, we’re excited to see the movie—but it’s Ryan’s one-of-a-kind fashion sensibility we’ve truly missed.
