Donald Trump’s truth with numbers has always been flexible at best. Much like his claim of weighing 215 pounds, his claim to winning club golf championships seems equally dubious.
But that hasn’t stopped the former president from adding another title to his locker – claiming on Truth Social that he won the senior club championship at his course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
‘I am pleased to report, for those that care, that I just won the Senior Club Championship (must be over 50 years old!) at Bedminster (Trump National Golf Club), shooting a round of 67,’ Trump posted.
To try and dissuade any doubters, Trump assured his followers that there was no ‘hanky/lanky’ going on.
‘Many people watch, plus I am surrounded by Secret Service Agents. Not much you can do even if you wanted to, and I don’t. For some reason, I am just a good golfer/athlete – I have won many Club Championships, and it is always a great honor!’

The former president called it a ‘great honor’ and claimed to have shot a round of 67
He also posted the private cell number of his club’s head golf pro if anyone disputed the claim
It wasn’t even two months ago that Trump was caught on camera hitting an absolutely terrible shank at one of his own courses – which has led many to question the seriousness of the ex-president’s claim.
It also doesn’t help that earlier this month, a tour of professional golfers came through the same course that Trump played. Of a full field of LIV golfers, only six rounds were carded at 67 or lower. Two of those rounds belonged to winner Cam Smith.
Trump also took part in the pro-am at the LIV Golf Bedminster event – but only played a few holes.
To support his claim, Trump posted the private phone number of the course pro at Trump National – essentially doxxing his own employee leading to people flooding his cell phone with calls.
Social media was quick to call the claim of him shooting into question – with many ripping the former president.
Actor Billy Baldwin posted on Twitter, saying, ‘Trump hasn’t won anything without cheating in decades. Not golf, his marriages, his business dealing, his taxes, his charities… or his elections. He hit a 67 just like he weighs 215.’
‘Donald Trump swings a golf club like he learned how to play from (50’s sitcom character) Ralph Cramden (sic). Dude claims he shot a 67. I assure you, Trump has never in his life come remotely close to breaking par,’ wrote one Twitter user.
Another wrote, ‘Trump has one of the most hideous golf swings I’ve ever seen. It’s severely over-the -top, out-to-in, resulting in a massive slice. The only way he shoots a 67 is the score on his front nine.’
At the LIV tournament at the same course just weeks ago, only four rounds of 67 or better were carded – with two of those rounds belonging to tournament winner Cameron Smith
Social media ripped into the former president, debating his claim of shooting a 67
Another joked, ‘…”I just won the Senior Club Championship at Bedminster (Trump National Golf Club), shooting a round of 67″ Trump is humble to not mention the 4:23 mile he ran afterwards, followed by his ripped 6’3″ 215 pound body cranking out 3 sets of 8×500 squats.’
Trump and 18 of his associates were recently charged with racketeering in the state of Georgia for accessing voting machines with election officials.
The president has continued to tout his false assertion that the 2020 election was rigged and that he was the actual winner.
His repeated insistence in the immediate aftermath of the election led to a group of his supporters storming the United States Capitol building on January 6, 2021 in an attempt to halt the certification of the votes in the presidential election.
