Royals fashion verdict: Camilla looked wonderfully elegant. But Kate stole the show in her bespoke fedora

  • The Royal Family stepped out for the traditional St Mary Magdalene service
  • Queen consort Camilla opted for Anna Valentine with late Queen’s brooch
  • Princess of Wales stole the day in recycled Alexander McQueen ensemble

For the first time in three years the Royal Family were reunited at Sandringham.

It’s the first Christmas in seven decades without the Queen on the throne, but time-honoured royal traditions continue, not least the annual attendance of the Christmas service at St Mary Magdalene Church – with every member of the family perfectly presented.

King Charles, in a smart camel coat, was joined by Camilla, who looked wonderfully elegant in a blue cashmere dress and coat by Anna Valentine, adorned with a diamond brooch which belonged to the late Queen.

She paired this with a colour-coordinated Philip Treacy hat and black suede boots.

The ever-elegant Princess of Wales didn’t disappoint in beautifully cut Alexander McQueen.

It’s not the first time the mother of three has worn this bespoke design; she was previously seen in it for a walkabout in Bradford in January 2020. Clearly a fashionable and functional piece that keeps out the chill.

Kate wore dark brown suede boots with a block heel. They are on sale at Russell & Bromley, reduced from £545 to £270, and are sure to sell out after this outing.

Her daughter Charlotte’s £160 Trotters Heritage burgundy double-breasted coat is the one she wore to Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 15, while her younger brother Louis wore matching burgundy shorts, which he cheekily showed off by raising his £182 classic navy coat by Ancar.

With Kate’s moss-coloured coat, the family presented the classic Christmas pairing of red and green.

While some of us barely stirred from our pyjamas on Christmas Day, the Royal Family’s commitment to public service – in style – was unwavering.
