Caribbean Villas holiday in Antigua
My first Caribbean holiday was to Antigua in the 60’s and I was captivated by the island, its beautiful beaches, and the hospitality and friendliness of the people. In those days, most of the hotels were open only from December to April catering for the visitors from the northern states of the U.S.A. and Canada escaping from their winters. At that time the influence of Canada was very strong with the presence of three major Canadian banks, Bank of Nova Scotia, Royal Bank of Canada, and Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada. As, at that time, there were no direct flights from the United Kingdom, the British visitors were few and far between. Now of course with direct flights from several airports in the United Kingdom, the British visitors have become the most numerous with American running second. Whilst the island has changed over the years with a tremendous increase in facilities for visitors including shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities, the roads having been improved dramatically particularly over the past few years, and the islands capital, St John’s, despite much remodelling, having retained all it’s charm and character, Antigua is still as endearing as it ever was and is a great holiday destination, particularly as the island’s Governments have, in their wisdom, not allowed uncontrolled construction on beachfront property resulting in numerous of the island’s 365 beaches remaining natural and unspoilt. I have since returned to Antigua on many occasions and have never been disappointed, and recommend that if you are interested in a Caribbean holiday in Antigua or to any other Caribbean holiday island, and staying in either a luxury Caribban hotel or a Caribbean villa, you should contact just caribbean villas
