Caribbean Villas all-inclusive St Lucia holiday
Having recently visited St Lucia on a Caribbean holiday with my granddaughters aged 3, 5, and 7; I was impressed with the magnificent scenery, and the amenities and shopping facilities available. We stayed at Almond Morgan Bay, a typical Caribbean hotel rsort in a superb location – this was a great choice as it was an all-inclusive resort with excellent facilities for the children. The only problem we had was, after a flight from Orlando via Puerto Rico, the long drive from Hewannorra International Airport at the southern tip of St Lucia to Almond Morgan Bay Resort which was at the opposite end of the island. Once we arrived at Morgan Bay, it was worth the temporary inconvenience of the drive. With a choice of several excellent restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, we saw no reason to leave the resort to eat out. We went into Castries on a few occasions and enjoyed the duty free shopping – to be strictly accurate, my daughter in law enjoyed it much more than my son!
We went out on a Boston Whaler from the resort with some St Lucians and snorkelled off the world-famous Pitons – the girls thought this was fantastic. We also went to Soufriere to visit the world’s only drive-in volcano, and had hot mud baths – the girls thought the smell of sulphur was “disgusting”, and followed this up with a swim in the pool at the foot of the Diamond Waterfall situated in beautiful tropical gardens. The best was still to come with a beach barbecue before returning to Almond Bay.
