Caribbean Hotel Fam Trip

I had always wanted to have a Caribbean holiday, and in 2004 through work I was fortunate to be offered a place on a Fam Trip. On arrival at Gatwick airport I was introduced to a group of travel agents, all of whom did not know each other. During the trip we became a team who worked well together and could share experiences and knowledge of the Caribbean, which has been extremely useful whilst advising our clients.

On arrival at Hewannora International Airport we were met by our guides for the week, the ride to our hotel took about an hour and a half but the journey was broken up by a stop at a roadside bar, where we enjoyed a very cold Piton beer (local brew). We stayed in 3 fabulous Caribbean hotels, Jalousie Plantation,  Le Sport, and Sandals Halcyon Beach during our stay and visited a number of quite different properties at various locations on St Lucia.

The island itself is very lush, with breathtaking views across the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts. The local cuisine is wonderful and the people a joy to meet. We found the staff at the typical luxurious Caribbean hotels were very obliging and offer a first class customer service, which is really important, to ensure a relaxing stay.

During our stay we had the opportunity to experience a selection of tours available on the island, my most memorable is a horse back ride through rocky terrain, ending up on a deserted beach to ride bareback through the sea. We watched a couple of locals carving coconut shells, to sell to tourists.

The atmosphere throughout our stay was very upbeat and we left the island with some very fond memories.

I was grateful to just caribbean villas for the opportunity to visit such a beautiful island and stay in such excellent Caribbean hotels, and I am sure that I will be returning in the future with my family for a Caribbean holiday.
