Just 20 minutes by hourly ferry from St Thomas, St John, the smallest and most idyllic of the three United States Virgin Islands, is best known for its dozens of post card perfect white sand beaches, turquoise bays abounding in colourful corals and rainbows of tropical fish and endless vistas of green velvet hills.
Despite the island being only nine miles long and three miles wide, two thirds is taken up by the Virgin Islands National Park thus ensuring that it’s spectacular beaches and untouched forests will remain that way for generations to come & be accessible to all. There are tours of the National Park by Jeep or safari bus and hikes on spectacular trails led by Park Rangers who enrich the experience with talks on the island's history, flora and fauna.
St. John is the peaceful, uncommercialized paradise of island fantasies. It has no high-rise buildings, cruise ship docks or airport, yet despite its unspoiled atmosphere, it offers every facility and amenity.
There are many excellent restaurants offerings a wide choice of cuisine, and opportunities abound for all types of water sports and activities including sailing, scuba diving, and snorkelling,. There are three shopping areas on the island offering beachware, jewelry, and duty free goods.
