Just 2 miles wide by 110 miles long and dotted with quaint, friendly fishing and colonial villages, such as Tarpum Bay, Bannerman Town, and Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera is the best known of the "Out Islands". Miles of glistening pink and white sand beaches, serene colonial villages and rolling acres of pineapple plantations make Eleuthera Island an island of the most casual sophistication.

Due to the geography of the island, settlements are scattered the length of the island, and visitors are attracted by it's unspoilt nature, hidden grottos and caves. Eleuthera enjoys the reputation of being the most laid back island of the Bahamas.

As to be expected, the beaches are magnificent and there are unrivalled opportunities to participate in all types of waters sports. For scuba diving enthusiasts, there are more natural wrecks here than any other island in the Bahamas, especially along The Devil's Backbone, a shallow and jagged reef extending across the northern edge of Eleuthera.
