The South Coast of Barbados is a curious mixture of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This coast is more lively than the West Coast but calmer than the East or North Coasts. With a blend of the Caribbean and the Atlantic, the south coast of Barbados offers calm waters to swim and snorkel over off-shore reefs and tidal pools, and yet also provides opportunities to windsurf and jet ski.
St Lawrence Gap is home to many excellent restaurants offering a wide choice of cuisine, and is the centre of Barbados nightlife with many nightclubs, including the Whistling Frog, Reggae Lounge, and the Ship Inn, featuring live entertainment most nights of the week with calypso and reggae music, and excellent R & B bands.
Within walking distance of "The Gap" is the Plantation Garden Theatre, home to the Bajan Boots & Rhythms, the only dinner and stage show in Barbados which offers the audience the opportunity to enjoy a presentation of West Indian culture.
