Barbuda, 26 miles north of Antigua, offers miles of secluded pink sand beaches, and is the home to turtles, wild boar, fallow deer, and an enormous variety of birds, estimated to be in excess of 170 species including a colony of over 5,000 frigate birds.
With over 90 chartered wrecks dating back over several centuries, Barbuda is a diver's paradise, and the beaches are rated as being amongst the best in the world.
Barbuda can be reached easily from Antigua, either by air (a twice daily 20-minute flight) or by boat (taking approximately three hours).
The island is home to the luxurious K-Club, Coco Point Lodge and Hotel Palmetto resorts, as well as to a number of other hotels and comfortable guest houses.
Activities on Barbuda are particularly laid back!!!! On offer are beachcombing, fishing, diving, snorkelling, and hunting and with golf, tennis available at the island's resorts. Alternatively one can just do nothing except enjoy the fabulous beaches, tourquoise sea, and soak up the sun.
