Just 45 mins from popular Orlando, visit launch headquarters – the only place on Earth where you can meet an Astronaut, see giant rockets, train in spaceflight and even view a launch.
At the Space Center you can view towering launch pads, huge rockets, interactive exhibits, and inspiring space programme experiences, visit the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, explore a life-size Space Shuttle mock-up, even touch a piece of Mars, the Red Planet, and take in the incredibly authentic sensations of spaceflight at the two giant 5-storey screens with realistic 3D special effects at the IMAX Theatres. The new Astronaut Training Experience (ATE) offers a full day of training like a real Astronaut, and includes a special guided tour of Kennedy Space Center, briefing time with a veteran NASA Astronaut, training simulators including the multi-axis trainer and the 1/6 gravity chair, an exclusive catered lunch and much more, with the highlight being a realistic Space Shuttle mission simulation in the state of the art Orbiter and Mission Control mockups - each participant plays a key role from launch to landing in the success of the mission.
Access from the Orlando area is easy by taking CR528 East (The Beeline) east past two tolls ($1.00 and $0.25) to a left exit labelled "407, Titusville, Kennedy Space Center". Take 407 until it ends at 405. Turn right onto 405 and proceed east. After approximately 1 mile you will see a Redstone rocket on your right -- this is the KSC Badge and Identification Building and the entrance to Kennedy Space Center.
